Over the last month, there have been several announcements of important changes to the Residential Tenancy Act and changes in Government policy relating to the property investment industry. The subjects of NZPIF media comments have included the proposed capital gains tax for properties sold within two years, and requirements for insulation and smoke alarms in rented properties.

15 July – Stuff website news and RadioNZ reported on Andrew King’s presentation to the Government Finance and Executive Committee when it met in Auckland. The effect of different lengths of time involved in the Bright Line test were the subject of discussion.
